With necessity being the mother of invention, the late 1920’s saw the emergence of a new style of jacket designed specifically with the needs of the motorcycle rider in mind.

The original Perfecto motorcycle jacket first came on the scene in 1928. It had a double sided look that overlapped in the front, and a slanted zipper that had a snug fit, thus addressing the elements issue. It was made of horsehide, a leather in abundance at the time, for protection of the biker’s skin in the event of a slide. It had zipper pockets and snaps to prevent things from falling out and flapping in the wind.
